Lake Tawakoni
Overview from anonymous fisherman: :)
" There are some organized places to try like Windy Point campground or
Thousand Trails...both on the East side of the lake. Take 47 out of
Point from 69 to TT. I think 276 off of 69 would take you to WP.
The state is opening a new state park on the southwest end of the
lake. My guess is 69 to Wills Point, 715 to somewhere along there, to
the park. Might try TP&W web site to see if it is open yet....last
time I fished around there ((4-99)), most of the concrete had been
poured.
Good state ramp off 715 about ten miles north of Wills Point but no
beach. Another state ramp about another mile up 715...smaller parking
and there are lots of folks who swim there but not the best beach I
have ever seen.
Finally, most of the marinas have launch places but beaches vary. I
have never really been to most. Duck Cove has no beach and Red Bear
has a campground so surely they have a beach. DC is on 715 between
the state ramps and Red Bear is off Hunt County 3706. 3706 is across
from the first ramp above...about ten miles up 751 from Wills Point."
