Lake Murray is nice I definitely think worth the trip for all! Nice size and a lot of beach/coves/trees to pull into and also has several gas stations. "Buzzards Roost" is a good spot to put in. They have a nature tower right across from it that is real neat to go into. Cost .50 cents per person and very educational for all ages. If everyone decides on that spot take exit #29 off I35 turn right, (coming from Dallas) go through one light then proceed to the 4 way stop (Lake sign on right) turn right at 4 way. Keep going a few miles or so until you see the "Buzzard" sign area turn there and has picnic area marina, launch, rest rooms etc....
