Eagle Mountain Lake

Eagle Mountain is a very pretty lake, with many bluffs and trees surrounding it. Not to mention that is has some really nice homes and some big wake boats on it. Eagle Mountain is about 12 miles northwest of Ft. Worth and can be reached by taking loop 820 to Jacksboro Highway (Highway 199) NW to near Azle. A friend used to own a weekend live-aboard boat and kept it on this lake. The following link is the overview page from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Reportedly, Eagle Mountain Lake has resorts (nominal admission fees are charged) with white-sand beaches, and in-water slides.

Augies

Good food on a outdoor patio, Texaco gasoline, and a nice ramp with close parking are the prime attractions. This private ramp is located on the way to Twin Points. Turn left on the first street after you cross the dam and look for the pink building.

Roeser Park (open Memorial Day to Labor Day)

The launch area is in the center of a wide grassy field and opens into a sheltered but small bay. It looks like camping may be available under some nice trees, though.

Twin Points Resort

Twin Points is sheltered in a beautiful sheltered bay. There is only a one lane ramp for jet skis and small boats. The 1999 launch fee was $5.00 and you can expect to pay $8.00 per person to use the nice sandy beach. This "resort" primarily consists of many permanent residents living in RVs and house trailers. Parking is a few hundred yards from the launch area.
